began its journey with Blue Ribbon apple pies and the joy fresh baked brownies could bring to friends.
Buoyed by a love for food and the power it has to gather friends and family in celebration of, tradition; for today:or for great expectations of things to come; we journey.
Christine's path meandered kitchen to kitchen, seeking mentors, chefs, and teachers to fuel her passion. An early start in Hotel/Restaurant Management from WCC lead her to Peter Kumps French Cooking School, Manhattan, to Cordon Bleu, London, and then to The International Pastry Arts School under the tutelage and then internship of Master Pastry Chef Albert Kumin.
It was then that Christine's vision of Happiness Is began to take shape. With help from Adele (mom), quality control and guidance, Tom, (brother) facilitator of all operations, a loyal and talented kitchen crew, and an awesome catering staff, We quickly out grew its first catering kitchen. The journey continues through several growth spurts and kitchen locations, while seminaring in the Wine Country Kitchens of both Napa California and Paris France.
Years later, (now) The Happiness Is crew is for the greatest part still original, though has grown to include Anna, booker of all good things, and Richard (Dad) chief in charge of deliveries, pick ups, and Mishaps.
Years later (now) We all continue the journey and growth of Happiness Is... and The Back Country Market & Cafe.
It's still all about the Joy fresh baked Brownies can bring to our friends.
